With the heat this summer not letting up and a busy kids’ schedule, it’s been hard to find time to get out for a pleasure ride. I commute every day on the bike, but it’s not the same as riding for the essential joy of riding. I decided to take a random day off in October because there were no other holidays I’d get off and today was the day. I haven’t ridden a curvy road in months so I took it real easy and just enjoyed the day.
The weather was threatening to pour rain, with some dark clouds to the north, exactly where I was going. El Nino is going to make for an interesting winter. Once I got above the clouds, maybe 3 miles from the top of GMR, it cleared up and was beautiful East Fork was wet like it had rained, but I didn’t get any rain until I was coming down the front side, but it didn’t last long and didn’t happen the rest of the day. So peaceful up there during the week. Just a one motorcycle and a handful of bicyclist the whole time.
