Work. Another week down. This concludes the thirteenth week working from home. The days blur together. The kids are out of school now so keeping the adjacent living area relatively quiet is a challenge. It’s been in the mid-90’s low 100’s all week and this room is sweltering during the afternoon. I have a little to move the air around, and that helps, but there’s no escape from the house because it’s just too hot. Today was reasonable at least, for June, mid-80’s to low 90’s.
I haven’t touched my bike in a while. I think I’ll take it for a spin tomorrow morning and see if I can remember how to do it. I’ve been so busy cleaning up the backyard, after mostly finishing the front yard, I haven’t had a lot of opportunity to really get out. You’d figure with the pandemic still on it’d be the perfect time, but I have so many home projects going at once, it’s hard to justify a 1/2 day riding when I could get a lot of work done in the yard.
The California Buckwheat is really looking nice now. The Red Buckwheat is on the verge of popping. The fucking jacaranda in the back is dumping pink flowers everywhere. I’m not sure how much longer I can tolerate that thing. I’d like to put an elderberry in its place, but I’m worried about the roots of those, from what little I’ve read about them- and they’re messy too, apparently.
